Alaya F, a rising star in the Hindi film industry known for her roles in “Jawaani Jaaneman” and “Freddy”, recently shared her thoughts on how the pandemic has transformed the industry as a whole. She stated that the pandemic has altered people’s viewing patterns, approaches, and what is being produced. Nonetheless, Alaya, who is the daughter of model-actor Pooja Bedi, claimed that she finds it easier to adapt to the post-pandemic film industry as it is the world she knows.
In an interview with PTI, Alaya discussed her four-film-old career and how the pandemic has been her biggest obstacle to date. Her debut film, “Jawaani Jaaneman,” was released in 2020, just before the pandemic. Alaya said that the pandemic forced the world to a standstill a few weeks after her movie was released, which was very discouraging for her. She received positive reviews, and it was a great moment to capitalize on her success, but everything came to a halt before she could take full advantage of it.
However, Alaya F is content to be a part of the film industry during this transitional period, as both creators and viewers approach content differently. In the past six months, she has had three movie releases, which is a silver lining for her career.
In her upcoming movie, “U Turn,” which will be released on ZEE5 on April 28, Alaya portrays Radhika, a curious, emotionally-driven woman who is investigating and writing a story about a flyover where numerous accidents occur. “U Turn” is the official Hindi adaptation of a 2016 Kannada movie of the same name, featuring actor Shraddha Srinath. The Kannada film was remade in Malayalam in 2017 and was adapted as a Telugu-Tamil bilingual feature in 2018. Alaya stated that the Hindi version is distinct from the original, with a unique ending and surprises throughout the film.
Alaya will also appear in “Sri,” a biopic on visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla, alongside Rajkummar Rao. The movie is set to be released in September and is a special project for Alaya. It’s a true story that deserves to be shared, and she believes there is no better person to bring it to life than Rajkummar Rao.
In conclusion, Alaya F discussed how the pandemic has altered the film industry, making it easier for her to adapt to the post-pandemic world. While the pandemic has been the biggest obstacle in her career, she remains positive about her future in the industry. With two more upcoming films, she is poised to become a leading actress in Bollywood.
